Just wondering why
there are so many people exercising... running, working
out, drinking bottled water, and they are so very intense about it all.
To
jog or to work, exercise or cook, enjoy food
or deny ourselves.
Imagine
how many hours are expended each week exercising, washing up
afterwards, and laundering your workout clothes. Imagine how
much time is expended planning, talking, analyzing,
fine-tuning, and reviewing our workout routines, results,
and failures. Imagine how much time is expended shopping for
the just right foods and supplements. Imagine how many hours
are expended shopping for equipment, clothing, and the "just
right" paraphernalia. Imagine the detailed analysis time
expended considering diets, dieting, and not eating. Imagine
how much pleasure is lost not eating & not doing things we
enjoy more than exercising.
Is it conceivable that we might have better ways to
spend
all that time each day, each week, each month? Is it
conceivable that we might be less frustrated
and less angry if we ate more tasty foods,
exercised less, and were less self-involved?
Oh,
the overly self-involved narcissism! Just wondering why. |
